Indie Heroes and Worms Delayed to July 30 2021

We have an update for you on the release date of Cartridges 17 & 18, Indie Heroes Collection 1 and Worms Collection 1, and sadly it is not good news.

The release date of these cartridges has unfortunately had to be delayed to July 30th, 2021 due to a supply issue beyond our control. This also means that restocks of existing cartridges will also be slightly delayed.

The current situation in electronics production globally has meant that the entire electronics industry has suffered mass shortages of vital components. You may well have seen these shortages reported on various news sites or by other manufacturers with low stock or delay issues over the last 6-8 months.

Unfortunately, this issue has caught up to us as well, even though we’ve desperately tried to avoid it. Once we were informed of the supply problems and were made aware that the components available for this run of production were unavailable, we tried our best to find a solution that allowed us to stick to the original release date, but we were left without a choice. We took the call to delay these cartridges late last week and started informing our retailers early this week.

We have now sourced alternative parts to hit the new release date and, because of this, we’ve been able to make sure the supply chain for these components is in place for the rest of 2021 and beyond. So we should have no delays on any other items for the rest of the year, including our newly announced cartridges and hardware.

This means that all other releases will not be affected by this issue. Pre-orders or release dates for Cartridges 19-22 and the release date of the Evercade VS and its packages will not change.

We deeply apologise for this and we know that the delay will disappoint many of you. We pride ourselves on being honest and if we do ever have to share bad news, we tell you exactly why that is happening so that you have the full picture.

We’re aware that this issue isn’t localised just to Evercade but the electronics industry as a whole, and we’ve been incredibly fortunate with the releases of our product over the last 18 months, in the midst of a global pandemic and supply shortages, that this is the first (and hopefully only) instance of this problem for us. We’re thankful to you, our community, for being an understanding one and you can rest assured that a solution to these issues has been found for the rest of this year.

If you have pre-ordered, your chosen retailer will be communicating this information to you shortly.

We thank you for your patience.
